Trek Across Maine
Our youth/adult Charity Cycling Team has trained, fundraised, and cycled in the 180-mile, three-day Trek Across Maine for the American Lung Association of Maine, every year since 2000. Our community-based, Charity Cycling Team has raised over $196,000 in support of the ALA-ME lung healthy initiatives. Over 306 team members in 12 years have cycled in the Trek Across Maine. The camaraderie of this diverse team contributes to healthy living habits, improves group cycling skills, teaches bike maintenance, and promotes fundraising for an invaluable community organization. Mutually meaningful youth/adult relationships are developed through the Charity Cycling Team. 100% of proceeds support the Community Bicycle Center's free youth development programs for kids, especially those considered "at-risk."
